Silver Oak Release Party + Domaine Chandon Bus Trip

[ December 21, 2011 to February 4, 2012. ] Napa Valley
Saturday, February 4th, 9am-6pm

The Silver Oak Cellars Release Day party is quite simply, one of the best wine events of the year. Silver Oak produces some of the very best and most sought after Cabernet Sauvignon in the world…and they know how to throw a great party!

We’re headed back to their Napa Valley Oakville Estate property for their Spring Release Party at their newly rebuilt and stunning winery. On Saturday, February 4th, Silver Oak will showcase the release of their 2007 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Guests can taste unlimited quantities of this sensational wine at this one-of-a-kind party.

You will also have the opportunity to taste rare library wines as well as the excellent wines from their sister winery, Twomey. There is no ordinary tasting experience with tents full of wine, fun people, live music, great food and hopefully lots of sunshine.

On our way home from Silver Oak, we will stop by Domaine Chandon to end the day as all civilized people should – with a glass of Calfornia’s best bubbly on their sprawling, tree shaded lawn.  And this year, we have our own private area reserved and all attendees will receive two glasses of their reserve champagne included in the price of the ticket.

We will provide luxury bus transportation through (definitely a day to have a driver!), a bagel breakfast, bottled water and visits to the Silver Oak Release Party and to Domaine Chandon (inclusive of two glasses of champagne). The admission to the Silver Oak event is NOT included (purchase on site), however, their price now includes fresh made doughnuts in the morning, a gourmet wine country lunch, a commemorative wine glass and picture booth phot0.

We will depart San Francisco at 9am sharp from the corner of Lombard & Fillmore streets and return at 6pm. Get ready for one of the most memorable and flat out FUN days you’ll have all year. Be sure to sign-up early as this event is extremely popular and sold out well in advance last year. Limited group purchase discounts are available.

Napa vs. Sonoma Showdown

[ January 25, 2012 5:00 pm to March 14, 2012 9:00 pm. ] General’s Residence, Fort Mason
Wednesday, March 14th, 6:30-9pm

The Rivalry
Famous rivalries are as old as time, like the Hatfield and McCoys or the Giants and Dodgers. Just to our North, we have one of the most distinguished rivalries between two neighboring regions, both much lauded for their distinctive, world-class wines. We are talking about the long-running, though friendly, rivalry between Napa and Sonoma wineries.

The Challenge
At the third annual Napa vs. Sonoma Showdown, you will have the unique opportunity to try sixty of the finest wines from each region. Thirty of the best wineries in the state will be pitted against each other with you as the final judge. Make your voice known on March 14th – do you lean Napa or Sonoma?

The Wines
Thirty of the finest Napa and Sonoma wineries will be on hand to meet this challenge with great gusto – and amazing wines. You will sample the legendary cabernet sauvignon’s of Napa Valley and the equally praised Sonoma pinot noir’s from the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast. Perhaps each region has a respective advantage with those two varietals, but when it comes to chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, syrah and zinfandel it may just be too close to call. Again, that’s where you come in.

The Wineries
The Napa Valley line-up includes: Barnett Vineyards, Brown Estate, Detert, Duckhorn, Fir Hill, Green & Red, Merryvale, Pahlmeyer, Paraduxx, Pride Mountain, Round Pond, Pine Ridge, Sequoia Grove, Silver Oak, Swanson & Terra Valentine.

The Sonoma line-up includes: Chronicle Wines, Collier Falls, Decoy by Duckhorn, Donelan, Dry Creek Vineyards, Fisher Vineyards, Fort Ross, Freeman, Muscardini Cellars, Peterson, Seghesio, St. Francis, Sol Rouge, Twomey, VIE & Quivira.

You won’t find a better line-up of California wineries in an intimate setting all year.

A Classic Venue
The General’s Residence in Fort mason high above the bay and Aquitic Park sets a dramatic backdrop for these world-class wines. Come experience the historical splendor of this stunning space.

The Extras
AG Ferrari will be on hand presenting an impressive display of artisanal cheeses, cured meats, olives and breads, while DJ Sol will be crafting his signature chill-out beats to set the mood.
