The Golden Age of Spain
Not as well know as its European counterparts, Italy and France, Spain has been in wine just as long. While once known for producing one-dimensional ‘old world’ wines, everything has changed in the last 20 years. The sheer range and quality of wines in Spain is mind-boggling. Even better, Spain is reknowned for producing wines of extraordinary value. In this intimate (25 people max) seated seminar, former Wine Spectator School educator Gwendolyn Wilson will introduce you to what is truly the golden age in Spanish wine.

Join as we delve into this country’s exceptionally rich winemaking and cultural history and diversity. You’ll taste a wide variety of top wines from:
- Rias Baixas - home of the amazingly refreshing Albarino grape
- Navarra – famous for its dry rosados (rose)
- Rioja – the classic wine region of Spain
- Ribera del Duero – world-class, hearty reds
- Jumilla – up-and-coming region making top Monastrell (Mourvedre)
- Priorat – the “cult-wine” region of Spain
Thanks to the folks at Folio Fine Wine Partners, we’ll now be adding a head-to-head tasting at the end of the night of two of the very best high-end Priorat’s available. One is created in a more traditional style and another in a very modern style.
