Seminar - Under The Tuscan Sun
If you’re not lucky enough to travel to Italy this summer, then let us take you on a tour through the undulating countryside and patchwork vineyards of Tuscany - the quintessential Italian wine region. Nicole Burke, star sommelier and wine director for 415 Restaurant & Lounge and both Garibaldi’s restaurants will take you on a memorable tasting tour around one of world’s oldest, greatest and most important wine regions. This intimate, educational (and fun!) seminar is limited to 25 people.
Tuscany is home to three of Italy’s most important wines - Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino, and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. While all three wines are made from the Sangiovese grape, the styles vary dramatically as each is made from a different Sangiovese clone and due to the extraordinary differences in microclimates in the area. You will taste all of them and learn the history, flavor profile and recommended food pairings for each wine.
In addition to these three classics, you’ll taste and learn about three more Tuscan wines: a Vernaccia di San Gimignano - a refreshing white wine from the slopes surrounding the medieval town of the same name, a Rosso di Montalcino - Brunello’s fruitier baby brother and finally a Super Tuscan - a delicious new world style blending Sangiovese with varietals like Cabernet and Merlot.
